BACKGROUND & MISSION

The Mission of MZP FOUNDATION, a dba of MUZICAL PRODUCTIONS LLC, is developing, creating and maintaining accessible music related tools and service possibilities that enrich underserved individuals, communities and identifiable groups through music and visual art forms/programs. We seek to empower “kids” of all ages, military veterans, first responders, the general public along with other cohesive groups through practical experiences in songwriting, playwriting, acting, directing, and related creative artistic disciplines fostering person growth, cultural expression, and community engagement. The evolution to a more inclusive approach to the art forms focuses in part on the idea that all genres of music and theater have a place in “possibilities”.

DONATE here by selecting which programs you desire to support:

Our VISION is building “partnerships through community service” by working with community and government organizations where access to various art forms offer the possibility of improving/changing people's lives in a positive way, especially individuals who lack the resources and/or educational skills necessary to participate in more structured programs not available in the smaller communities in concert with the MZP Foundation's [www.mzpfoundation.org] nonprofit mission (a business title, not a private foundation).

LEGAL STATUS

The official registered corporate name, Muzical Productions LLC, is registered with the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and approved to use the "doing business as (dba)" title “MZP Foundation”.  The NAICS for MUZICAL PRODUCTIONS is listed under Independent Artists, Writers, and Performers.  The official website is listed as https://muzicalproductions.com.  The Muzical Productions, LLC, is exempt from federal income tax under Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)(3) and is authorized to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gift under various Sections of the IRC to support the stated mission.

PHILOSOPHY OF SERVICE

Whether songwriting, playwriting and/or performance skills are the desired outcome of this learning journey, the mission and vision of this Public Charity is to focus on local versus national community theaters/venues and the musical and visual art interests of the citizens (all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds), especially students attending local schools as well as the community of military veterans and first responders who acknowledge the therapeutic value of participating in various art forms.  The geographic range for future expansion is limited to the central and midwestern U.S.A., from Branson Missouri, considered a focal point for music and the arts in the Midwest, through Northwest Arkansas, Oklahoma City and the Fort Worth - Dallas metroplex.

Music and the visual arts are often viewed collectively as a catalyst which brings together the human experience through various music, performance and visual art forms produced in community theaters throughout the described region including outdoor city parks and/or public gathering places as well as other community venues.

ALLOCATION AND DISTRIBUTION OF FUNDS RECEIVED

Allocation of Funds:

Being a “startup” nonprofit, the allocation of funds is expected to mature; thus, the allocations listed herein are subject to an annual review to ensure that the allocation of funds and distribution of these funds covers the cost of operations and its program requirements in meeting the stated mission.  The areas of support for which Funds received are divided into several categories as listed on the “Donation Page”:

  • Restricted funds – Donor specifies how the money must be used thereby creating a legal obligation to honor these restrictions if selected as an option on the donation page.
  • Temporary restricted funds – Can only be used for a specific purpose or time period.
  • Unrestricted funds – These funds can be used for any lawful purpose that furthers the nonprofit’s mission, including overhead and administrative costs.

Muzical Productions, being a public charity, has exclusive legal control over the donations and allocation of funds as illustrated below. Typically, Muzical Productions does not refund charitable donations.  Please save your receipt for your tax records as confirmation of your donation.  Donations are tax deductible as permitted by law.

Expected allocation of funds received are listed below in four (4) categories subject to changes as determined by the Board of Directors:

  • Program services – 90% - Direct costs related specifically to the specific mission as stated herein.
  • Administrative/management – 5% - Accounting, compliance, office operations.
  • Fundraising – 2.5% - Costs related to raising funds.
  • Reserves – 2.5% - Savings or endowment funds to ensure long-term stability.

Legal & Compliance Considerations related to Allocation of Funds:

  • Funds will be used only for exempt purposes, not private benefit.
  • The Muzical Productions public charity will honor donor restrictions as requested and feasible, and in writing.
  • Proper accounting and tracking of restricted and/or unrestricted funds will be maintained separately.

Best Practices:

  • The allocation of funds will be tracked using appropriate accounting software and charts as appropriate.
  • Reporting in Form 990 will be followed as required by regulatory guidelines.
  • Overhead must be reasonable but not to the detriment to the mission of the nonprofit public charity.

New features on this site will include activities related to musical and theatrical events organized to fulfill educational and training as described herein.

Other Non-profit Organizations which support music and theater events as imbedded into the mission and vision of Muzical Productions will be identified herein.  A calendar will be maintained as up to date as information is received from you, the public: Please send suggestions/calendar updates to contact@mzpfoundation.org.
